Position: Housing Advocacy Director
Position Type: Exempt, Full Time, Salary in the low 40’s

The Housing Advocacy Director is an essential, exempt, full-time position in the low $40k’s. Turning Point of Lehigh Valley offers excellent benefits, health and life insurance.

The Housing Advocacy Director is responsible for the overall operation, services, and safety of Turning Point’s Safe House residential shelter and community housing programs for victims of domestic and intimate partner abuse.  This position leads the Safe House Team through direct supervision of the Safe House, Housing, & Overnight Advocate staff positions.

The Housing Advocacy Director manages the legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance of this facility, ensures timely and accurate data gathering and analysis to improve Turning Point’s services, and collaborates with other community agencies to promote the mission of Turning Point. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability during evening and weekend hours, as necessary to provide adequate supervision of all staff and meet program needs.

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience which includes casework, counseling, supervision, and/or victim’s services experience. A Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work or a related field is preferred. The candidate will have a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience with a working knowledge of human resource management principles. Must be adept at client database management. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Position: Human Resource Assistant
Position Type: Non-Exempt, Full Time

The Human Resource Assistant is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position pays $16.00 an hour. Turning Point of Lehigh Valley offers excellent benefits, health and life insurance. Perfect for a mission-oriented person who is compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental.  Must have excellent “customer-service” skills, the ability to handle crisis situations calmly, effectively, and efficiently and is a team player but can also work independently.

The Human Resource Assistant assists management and co-workers in handling daily administrative office tasks, direct service activities, as well as performing administrative duties related to the operations of Human Resources, including compliance with funding requirements for employees and volunteers. The Human Resource Assistant must have an entry level understanding of Human Resource competencies.

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience as an administrative assistant in Human Resources. A degree in HR, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Currently we are looking for:

P/T Safe House Advocate:  The P/T Safe House Advocate works Saturday and Sunday - every other weekend. It is an essential, part-time, non-exempt position. The P/T Safe House Advocate's primary responsibilities are in the areas of crisis intervention services for callers throughout the community, answering our 24/7 helpline, advocacy for all callers and safe house residents. The P/T Safe House Advocate primarily works Saturday and Sunday every other weekend, but has the opportunity to cover a variety of shifts which may include weekdays, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to operate in a team environment with Turning Point staff and other entities associated with the 24/7 operations of Safe House. Must be a supportive listener to clients in crisis, have strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in social service or a related field. Must be able to work your scheduled shifts which may include weekends, overnights and holidays. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Office365 and Teams. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
