Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is expanding its team!

We are seeking a compassionate, mission oriented people who are energetic, self-motivated and ready for a challenging career. The following positions are full-time and non-exempt starting at $16.00 an hour. Turning Point of Lehigh Valley offers excellent benefits, health and life insurance. Currently we are looking for:

A Legal Advocate: The Legal Advocate provides support and advocacy in a trauma-informed manner to those who have experienced domestic and intimate partner abuse and are seeking relief through the civil and criminal justice systems.  Primary responsibilities are in the areas of court accompaniment, individual advocacy, information & referral, and crisis intervention services for clients at the county courthouses and magisterial district justice offices.

Client Advocates: 3PM to 11PM shift. The Client Advocates' primary responsibilities are in the areas of crisis intervention services for callers throughout the community, answering our 24/7 helpline, advocacy for all callers and safe house residents. The Client Advocate covers a variety of shifts as scheduled which include weekdays, overnights, weekends, holidays, and other times as needed. Must be able to operate in a team environment with Turning Point staff and other entities associated with the 24/7 operations of Safe House.

A Community Advocate: The Community Advocate provides individual and group empowerment counseling to those who have experienced domestic and intimate partner abuse, in a trauma-informed manner.  Primary responsibilities are in the areas of short-term empowerment counseling, individual advocacy, and crisis intervention services for clients throughout the community. This position requires availability during evening and weekend hours, as necessary, to meet client needs.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in social services or a related field. An advanced degree in social services is preferred. Must be able to work your scheduled shifts which may include weekends, overnights and holidays. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Office365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
