Position: Safe House Advocate
Position Type: $20.00/Hr. Plus a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus
                          Essential, Non-Exempt, Nights & Weekends
Shifts Available:  F/T, 3PM to 11PM – 3 positions available
                              P/T, Every other weekend 11PM to 7AM - 1 position  available

Earn up to $22.50/hr Plus $1,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Turning Point offers a full range of services throughout the Lehigh Valley to adults and children impacted by domestic & intimate partner abuse.  We are advocates, grounded in fostering a community of safety, healing, and empowerment for anyone affected by domestic violence.

As a Safe House Advocate, you will provide crisis intervention, direct advocacy and case management, safety planning, and support to survivors in our Safe House program and through our 24/7 Helpline.

Base pay is $20/hr, with an additional $1/hour when working 2nd or 3rd shifts and an additional $1.50/hr for weekend shifts.  As an “essential employee,” at least one weekend shift is required for all FT positions.  Must be able to work scheduled holiday shifts and be able to work on-site when there is bad weather. Holidays and overtime pay double-time.

Must be able to operate independently and in a team environment in our 24/7 Safe House. Must have excellent listening and problem-solving skills and be a supportive listener to clients in crisis.  Candidates with advanced education and ability to speak and write in English and Spanish are preferred. Must have reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license.

The Outreach Educator Advocate provides prevention education and community outreach to increase awareness of issues related to domestic and intimate partner abuse, in a trauma-informed manner. Primary responsibilities are in the area of educational programming, trainings, outreach materials, and attendance at events throughout the community. This position requires availability during evening and weekend hours, as necessary, to meet community needs.

Must have a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in education, instructional design or social services or related field. A degree in education, instructional design or social services is preferred. Must be adept at client database management. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
